The Clown mutation was proven recessive by VPI. It is one of the rarest morphs in the wild. Very few have been imported from Africa. I am working with clowns from both the VPI line and BHB lines for genetic diversity, including genetic reduced pattern Clown lines.
Clowns were largely overlooked for many years as other mutations gained popularity. In 2005, the first Pastel Clowns and the Albino Clown sent this morph back into the spotlight. Now it is one of the most popular mutations and its full potential is still ahead.
